Citrus Splash – Review

Citrus Splash – review number 4 and the spotlight moves to another Floral Water, Citrus Splash.

Citrus Splash is a zesty floral water, with orange flower water and witch hazel water as the base and pure, essential oils of french lavender, grapefruit, orange, and lemon.

Citrus Splash

I am going to use the Citrus Splash as a face freshener throughout the day, to help keep me alert at the computer station.

As normal, the first test is the fragrance test. The fragrance is definitely citrus, though more sophisticated than regular citrus from a fruit, there is a high note of mintiness there as well.

Pouring a small amount of the Citrus Splash on the hands, and splashing onto the face seems to work well, absorbs fast, and gives a slight tingling sensation to the skin.

Citrus Splash

The fragrance of the Citrus Splash when on the skin moves straight to the aroma of a orange. The fragrance is refreshing, and does act as a mild pick me up.

An enjoyable balm Citrus Splash another winner, a 4¾ balms out of 5.

Fennel Firming Oil – Review

Day three sees Fennel Firming Oil enter the review arena.

Fennel Firming Oil is part of the Beautiful Balms natural skincare oil blend collection. The ingredients of the Fennel Firming Oil, are a jojoba base carrier oil, with pure, essential oils of lemon, fennel, cypress & juniper.

Fennel Firming Oil

I have decided to use the Fennel Firming Oil just around the chin, aiming for that well chiseled look :) .

First the fragrance test; it has a clean aniseed bouquet, with an almost medicinal hint and quality to it.

Being an oil blend, I will first just dip in a finger, and smooth it around the chin. The oil goes on fine, quickly absorbed by the skin. I think the trick is just to dab it on, using small amounts so the hands don’t get too oily.

Fennel Firming Oil

The fragrance as the Fennel Firming Oil meets the skin is excellent, the juniper starts to come out at that point. The fragrance has a relaxing quality to it, and this would make a great oil to use after physical exercise.

Again, I have rather enjoyed this balm experience and will be keeping my Fennel Firming Oil sample to use when I get back from the gym, top marks to this balm a 95% score is what I will give it.

Sage & Thyme Herbal Water – Review

Second review – Sage & Thyme Herbal Water, Beautiful Balms take on the famous Queen of Hungary’s Water, one of, if not, the first perfume made.

The Sage & Thyme Herbal Water is part of the natural Floral Waters collection at Beautiful Balms. The main ingredients in the Sage and Thyme Herbal Water are rose water, and witchhazel water that form the base to the floral water, and pure, essential oils of rose lavender, sage, thyme and rosemary.

Sage and Thyme Herbal Water

I am going to be using this balm as an aftershave balm, so I have had a quick trim of the whiskers, and have the Sage & Thyme Herbal Water in front of me ready to review.

Opening the bottle and having a sniff, the fragrance is certainly that of thyme with a slight medicinal hint to it, it is certainly a perky fragrance; something to splash on early on the day.

Sage and Thyme Herbal Water

Pouring some onto the palm of my hand, and then smoothing round the face releases a difference fragrance, ever so slightly musky and certainly more potent. The Sage & Thyme Herbal Water quickly absorbs into the skin, and leaves the face feeling softer and little tighter. The effect of the face splash is certainly refreshing, though with a more neutral feel then a citrus based face splash.

Well, I enjoyed the Sage & Thyme Herbal Water and may very well be making it a part of my every morning ablutions.
5 out of 5 stars from me for Sage & Thyme Herbal Water :) .

Sage and Thyme Herbal Water

Soon I will probably be running out of the unisex balms, so if some fair ladies wish to step forward and offer to do some reviews, I would be more than happy to have a balm that is still to be reviewed sent to them. UK delivery is best for Beautiful Balms at the moment, though Western Europe we could accommodate. So, have a look at the Beautiful Balms website and either contact us from them or leave a comment here, thank you.

Grapefruit Deodorant Balm – Review

Ok, first up is Grapefruit Deodorant Balm.

Grapefruit deodorant balm is from the natural skin cream collection. The balm can be used everyday as a deodorant, it has herbal tinctures of sage, so whilst it is not being marketed as an antiperspirant there are some light drying qualities in the balm itself.

Grapefruit Deodorant Balm

The Grapefruit deodorant balm has a mixture of pure essential oils of Grapefruit, French Lavender, Rosemary, Palmarosa and Sage. I have the balm in front of me now, and I have just had a relaxing bath ready to try out the skin cream. The fragrance is excellent, the tone is definitely of grapefruit with french lavender playing delicately around the scent. The fragrance is very subtle, certainly not overpowering, and there is a slight sweetness to it.

Grapefruit Deodorant Balm

I will add a drop onto the back of the hand first to test the absorbency properties, the texture is very creamy & smooth, reminds one of whipped cream; very soft to the touch. I have rubbed the cream in slightly, and it is still visible now after one minute, a swift rub over again and the cream absorbs into the skin.

Grapefruit Deodorant Balm

A quick application to the under arms, and around the shoulders, I just get a hint of the fragrance, and after a minute or so I am good to pop on a top. Very economical on the usage, just a couple of finger fulls for each side of the body has done the job, and well I smell quite good if I do say so myself.

The cream comes in a generous 60ml jar. The fragrance is very unisex, and the texture is incredibly smooth, Grapefruit Deodorant Balm from Beautiful Balms you get two thumbs up from me.
